One of the biggest crises of modern life is alienation, alienation at every stage. We are alienated from each other. We don’t connect, relate, feel, or understand what the other is feeling.
As a civilization, we are aliens living together but not connected. Today, social media has made us completely disconnected.
Is there a Real Connection?
We are glued to the screens and addicted to social media. We know what is happening in the other country. We knew what was happening in space. Yet we are unaware of what is happening next to your house to your neighbour.
We are strangers to ourselves.
Yet we are living a lie of superficial talks, fake smiles, and projections.
Leave alone your neighbour. Just think of family members. You don’t know what they are undergoing.
Even on a holiday, what are we doing? We don’t get together and spend time with our family, playing or chatting or sharing what happened that week.
We sit together and watch a movie, or all of us are with our heads bent, and everyone is on their cell phones, laptops, or iPads, watching something, playing a game, watching social media, or talking to someone who is not around them.
Ignoring the Reality
Engrossed in the virtual world, we tend to ignore the real world.
People who are near have become far.
When you are disconnected from everyone, life can be terrifying.
Because you feel like an orphan even when people are around you.
When challenges hit you, it can be threatening. That’s why people move into depression so easily.
You have 5000 friends on Facebook but feel alone when a challenge hits you. You have no one. And it is this alienation that is getting translated even with the connection with our divine.
One major reason for man’s suffering is alienation from the divine. That is why whenever there is a problem, you get very scared. You feel there is nobody to help you, even the divine.
But if we observe, the divine is trying to reach us in various ways.
But we are like a child lost in an exhibition that gets carried away by all the amusements. Most of us are unaware that we have lost our connection with the divine. This is the reason why we feel lonely all the time.
We feel loneliness not just because of the absence of people in our lives but also because of the absence of a connection with the divine/super consciousness.
The divine presence is our unseen strength in times of trial, but you don’t recognize it. Once you begin to notice the cosmic consciousness or supreme consciousness, there will be synchronicities in your life.
Hence, you cannot access it because we are loaded and exhausted.
Is there something called as true love?
You seek love from others, family members…You keep searching for love, thinking you will be fulfilled one day. But it never happens. Your search for love is like a mirage. It appears as if it is, but it’s not.
Dependence is not love; seeking approval is not love.
True love should happen with oneself.
In your life, whenever you feel lonely and lost. If you observe closely, you will realize that the divine presence was there with you in those moments of pain and despair.
The above image of two hands reaching for each other can symbolize unity, connection, and support; in a way, divine/ cosmic consciousness is trying to reach man. The great painter Michalango depicts this meaning in his paintings.
Universal intelligence has protected us or given us the courage to face the situation, but the divine was there.
Contemplate
- Close your eyes.
- Just contemplate how distracted you were with your thoughts.
- Slow down your breathing. Allow yourself to be in peace.
- No rush for anything.
- Breathe consciously.
- Try to recollect those moments when you felt lonely and lost.
- Recognize those moments when the divine was there and helped you.
- Ask the divine to reveal those moments when you felt helpless and how the divine was there next to you, within you, giving you strength and support.
Thank the divine for being with you whenever you needed.
